Tawni & Troy’s Wedding at North Fork Farm: A Celebration of Love, Tradition, and the Outdoors

Tawni and Troy’s wedding at North Fork Farm in Snoqualmie, WA, was nothing short of spectacular! With their deep love for the outdoors and strong family ties in the area, this venue was the perfect choice for their celebration. Nestled near where Troy grew up and with Tawni’s extended family close by in Tacoma, North Fork Farm brought together their community in a space that felt deeply personal.

North Fork Farm is a true gem. The exterior lumber was milled by the owner himself, giving the venue a unique, hand-crafted charm. Inside, the rustic beauty continues with tin accents recycled from the historic Weyerhaeuser mill that once stood in Snoqualmie. The live edge bar tops and crystal chandeliers were thoughtfully placed to create an elegant yet cozy atmosphere. With stunning views of Mount Si and vintage touches in every suite, it’s no wonder Tawni and Troy fell in love with this spot.

The day was gorgeous, and Tawni and Troy were such a fun and energetic couple to work with—perfectly aligned with my photojournalistic style of capturing candid, authentic moments. From the lively bridal party to the laid-back summer vibe of the wedding, every detail was a joy to photograph.

One of the most memorable parts of the day was the powerful haka performed by Troy, the bride’s father, and several other men. The haka, a ceremonial Māori war dance, is a deeply symbolic display of pride, strength, and unity, with stomping, chanting, and rhythmic body movements. It was an incredible, emotional moment that set the tone for the day’s celebrations.

The cultural richness didn’t stop there. Several Hawaiian dances were performed, including the traditional money dance (or pandango), where Tawni and Troy danced while guests showered them with money. Tawni herself took part in these beautiful performances, adding a personal and joyful touch to the reception.

As the evening wore on, the sunset painted Mount Si in a stunning golden light. We captured some of my favorite photos of the day during this magical moment, with the soft sunset glow creating an unforgettable backdrop. And just when we thought the night couldn’t get more special, a breathtaking fire dance lit up the evening. This ancient Hawaiian dance, known as Kahiko, is a spiritual connection to the past, accompanied by chanting and drumming that dates back over a thousand years.

Tawni and Troy’s wedding was not just a celebration of their love, but also a tribute to tradition, family, and the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest. The blend of outdoor beauty, heartfelt moments, and cultural performances made this wedding one of the most meaningful and unforgettable I’ve had the privilege to capture.

What a day! It was truly one of my favorite weddings, and I’m so grateful to have been part of such a magical celebration.
